APAI Committees

APAI committees are member-led groups that support the organization’s mission by focusing on key areas such as long-life asphalt pavement performance, materials and construction specifications and technologies, training and educational programs, Winter Conference and Expo planning, and asphalt industry career opportunities and scholarships. Committees help advance APAI’s strategic goals by providing expertise, recommending initiatives, and carrying out specific projects that strengthen the association and benefit its members.

Design & Asset Management

Purpose

The committee will partner with INDOT and other agencies to increase the value and extend the life of asphalt pavements through design and asset management topics.

Any person that is an employee of a producer contractor member is eligible to be a member of the committee.

Materials & Construction

Purpose

The committee will partner with the INDOT and other agencies to improve specifications, explore innovations, and improve processes regarding materials and construction topics.

Any person that is an employee of a producer contractor member is eligible to be a member of the committee.

Training

Purpose

The committee will guide the development and deployment of training and education programs and objectives of the association, including oversight of the INDOT certification programs.

Winter Conference & Expo

Purpose

The committee will guide APAI’s annual Winter Conference & Expo planning efforts to create an event that will provide attendees with valuable educational and networking experience, as well as give exhibiting companies ample opportunity for meaningful interaction with APAI members and agency employees.

Any person that is an employee of an association member (all membership classifications) is eligible to be a member of the committee.

Workforce Development & Scholarship

Purpose

The committee will guide APAI’s strategic efforts to increase awareness of career opportunities in asphalt through the development and deployment of effective communications, partnerships, and outreach programs. The Committee will oversee the administration of the association’s college scholarship program and high school awards program.

Any person that is an employee of an association member (all membership classifications) is eligible to be a member of the committee.
