INDOT Certified Asphalt Lab Technician Program (ICAT)
This INDOT certification course offers practical training in asphalt mixture and material sampling and testing. Through this 3-day course, attendees will gain knowledge from presentations led by INDOT and APAI on how to meet specification requirements for sampling, testing, and asphalt mixture relationships at a Certified Hot Mix Asphalt Producer facility. Aggregate and asphalt mixture laboratory demonstrations during the course will provide best practices for some of the day-to-day testing performed in asphalt acceptance and quality control facilities. This course certification is required for contractor laboratory personnel performing testing on INDOT projects, or anyone seeking a stronger understanding of asphalt testing requirements.
